Author’s Note: This is yet another ‘song’ story, this time Sara Evans is providing the song called “No Place That Far”. It can be found on her CD ‘No Place That Far’. I don’t have the writers of the song this time, as I found the lyrics at http://www.lyricshq.com. Thanks: To Tracy for your help once again.
I can’t imagine, any greater fear Willow woke with a start her hand automatically reaching over to the other side of the bed, only to remember that she was alone. The pain was still fresh, it clutched at her heart without respite. She thought she had cried all the tears she could, but she was proven wrong as they made their way down her face. She grabbed his pillow, bringing it to her face, finding a faint trace of him clinging to it. Burying herself she sobbed deep, heart wrenching, disabling tears.
And though the sun, will still shine on She wanted to blame the world for what happened... How could the sun continue to shine when she felt empty inside?
If I had to run She tried everything to get to him...
Always know that I would find a way They pulled her away from his body, they didn’t want her to see him. The funeral was a large one. Many of his friends came to pay their last respects. Willow put up a good front only Buffy and the others knew it was an act she played for everyone else. She never had the chance to tell him...
It wouldn’t matter why we’re apart
I need you that much She needed him... She needed his strength, but he was gone. She knew there was nothing that would have made him leave willingly, she found out later that he had sacrificed himself so that she would be out of harm’s way. He had told her that he would die for her she never believed that it would come to pass. Buffy, Xander and the others had kept a close eye on her...afterwards. It was as if they thought Willow would try something desperate. She couldn’t...
If I had to run Someone else needed her...
Always know that I would find a way Willow got out of bed, making her way down the hall. She peered into the bedroom, her son... Their son was sleeping peacefully. It was the first time in the months that followed the funeral that he hadn’t spent the night within his mother’s arms. Vincent only knew that his father had died in an accident, it would be kept that way. Willow slowly rubbed her hand over her stomach she was due in another month. It was the one thing she regretted the most, that Rupert had died without knowing that he was going to be a father once again. Going towards Vincent’s side, Willow gently brushed the hair from his face, and placed a kiss on his cheek.
If I had to run
Always know that I would find a way
Baby there’s no place that far. “Wait for me Rupert,” Willow whispered into the still night air. “Forever...” she swore she heard in her mind. The End.
