Author’s Note: This is a very short piece, a letter actually. I haven’t written ANY stories in the last four months and this just popped into my head last night. I’m not even sure if it makes any sense.

Last night I sat alone for hours, thinking back upon my life, wondering about the things I had done.

The rights and wrongs.

Had I made the right choice? Was I deluding myself in my waning years?

Then a thought occurred to me...

I had done something right...

I had made the right choice.

And, every night since, before closing my eyes...

I can see what it has brought me...

I can feel the warmth that surround me.

You were my choice.

One, that I will never wonder about.

The one I cherish from this moment on, ‘til my dying breath.

The day I chose to ask you to marry me, my heart stood still.

Everything...

Everything slowed down...

Until...

Your answer breathed new life into me.

“Yes Rupert, I’ll marry you.”

And this my dearest Willow, is a moment I look back to with love.

Thank you.

Happy Anniversary,

Yours,

Rupert.

The End.
