**********

Dawn had gone home. Anya and Xander had left a long time ago. Buffy had gone patrolling with Riley. That left Willow and Giles alone to clean up the mess from the latest demon attack on the Magic Box.

She worked her way around the room, clearing away broken items and putting away everything else. Every once in a while, she would glance up at the books in the loft. They called to her; she could feel it.

Giles watched Willow as she worked. He watched her movements become slower, her breathing change, and her eyes start to close. The books called to her as they called to him - as her magick called to him.

Their hands touched the railing at the same time. “They can be dangerous,” he said.

“I know,” she said as she turned away. “I just want to learn more. Looking at them couldn't hurt. Right?” she asked.

“Speaking the wrong phrase from certain texts can be disastrous. With some, it's not even necessary to speak the words, seeing them is enough if the conditions are right.”

Willow laughed. “You've got to be joking. Books and spells don't work that way.”

Giles didn't laugh. “If you don't trust your teacher . . .” he began.

“I trust you. I do. Really. It's just . . . I didn't think that was possible.”

“Would you like me to show you?” he asked.

“Sure. Why not?” She sat at the table and waited as he climbed up and brought down a book.

Standing behind her, he placed the book on the table in front of her. “Open it,” he whispered into her ear. “Turn the pages. Watch the words, but don't try to read them.”

Willow opened the cover and felt a surge of magick. She turned the pages slowly, looking at the words. The room felt like it was moving. Giles placed his hands on her shoulders, and the movement ceased. She turned more pages as a wave of magick flowed through her. By the time she reached the end, she felt like she was buzzing.

She stood and turned to face Giles. He promptly kissed her. When they broke apart, they were both covered in sweat and panting.

“Wow!” Willow exclaimed. “That was. Wow! That was like an entire day of sex all at once. Great sex, too! Where did you ever get a book like that?”

“Ethan and I wrote it.”

The End
