Though I've tried to tell her
Of the feelings I have for her in my heart
Every time that I come near her
I just lose my nerve
As I've done from the start
***
Giles was nervous...He cleared his throat...
"Um...Willow..I-I have a question to ask...I-I know we haven't been dating for a long time...But w-we have been friends for many years...Many...Um..I don't want you to think I'm indecorous...But...I love you, Willow. With all of my heart...And I'd be honored if you would be my wife...Damn! I'm an idiot! I sound like such a fool!"
Giles ran a hand over his face. Again with practicing to an empty chair! Could he do it? He wanted too..He loved her...Giles wanted to spend the rest of his life with Willow.

Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she do just turns me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now I know my love for her goes on

Giles went to check on dinner. He was doing his best to make this night perfect. From candles to the beautiful pink roses all around the room.
Pink roses because she once told him that it was her favorite flower. Though if she'd loved red roses, it would have been hard, but Giles would have put them up for her. Even if they came with painful memories...But his sweet Willow didn't like red. She liked pink. So pink she'd have. He couldn't wait to see the sparkle enter Willow's green eyes when she saw them. Or the lovely smile she'd give to him.

Do I have to tell the story
Of a thousand rainy days since we first met
It's a big enough umbrella
But it's always me that ends up getting wet
***
Giles could hear the light rain outside. But he wasn't thinking about the rain..Or any demon. Or any prophecy. He was thinking about Willow. To think that Giles had watched with wonder, longing and love as Willow turned into the wonderful woman she is today.
Independent. Loving. Caring. Smart. Determined.
There were many more words that describe the love of his life.
Giles looked at his watch. She should be here soon...He looked at his front door...Willing it to open to reveal his favorite red head.

Giles smiled as his front door opened. Willow looked so lovely in a colorful velvet dress. Giles noticed that his wonderful, practical Willow was wearing high heals that looked so high and delicate that he wondered if her feet were hurting.
Willow gave him a shy and glorious smile. Giles forgot all about her feet.
"Hi, Rupert."
"Hello...Y-you are very beautiful tonight, but then you always look beautiful."
Willow blushed.
"Thank you."
Willow moved toward him. Placing her arms around his waist. She turned her face up to look at him. Giles lowered his head and put his lips onto hers.
The kiss was so wonderful. Demanding, yet coaxing. Passionate. Full of love.
***
I resolved to call her up a thousand times a day
And ask her if she'll marry me in some old fashioned way
But my silent fears have gripped me
Long before I reach the phone
Long before my tongue has tripped me
Must I always be alone

Giles' cooking buzzer went off. Causing the couple to jump. They both laughed as Giles rushed into the kitchen.
"Looks like I'm on time. And what ever it is...Smells delicious!"
"Homemade chicken pot pie."
"Oooo...I love a man that knows how to cook...And if he knows how to clean up a kitchen, I love him even more!"
"R-really?"
"Really." Willow smiled sweetly. That smile always made Giles' heart melt..."Though it helps if the man is Rupert Giles, because I'm already madly in love with him.

Giles checked on his master piece. And set the buzzer for a couple of more minutes. He came back around to where Willow was standing.
"I love these pink roses. Are they--?"
"For you. Of course."
"Okay, major smoochie time!"
Giles, suddenly, found Willow in his arms.
"Um...Willow...I-I have a question to ask..."
"Yes, Giles? And if it's to marry you, then yes, I will."
Surprised, Giles looked at Willow and his arms tightened around her waist.
"I haven't asked you, yet."
Willow, smiled. She cupped his beloved handsome face between her palms.
"You don't have to. The answer is still yes."
"How did you know I was going to ask you to marry me tonight? Willow, did you use magic?" Giles asked, giving her his best glare.
Willow laughed.
"No..No magic..I don't need magic to see into your heart. All I have to do is look into your eyes and I can see your love for me. Though I didn't know you were going to ask me to be your wife tonight, but the answer is still yes."
Giles smiled with a look of pure joy and whispered. "Yes?"
"Yes, my love." She whispered back and nodded to him.
Giles lips meet Willow's..The kiss deepened...There was magic in the kiss...The magic and power of pure love...
